The installation process of the kit can vary depending on the user's experience and requirements. If users only want to use the pre-designed button mappings, they can simply insert the provided ribbons without any soldering required. However, if users want to remap the L3/R3 and/or touchpad buttons to the back buttons, soldering is necessary. The accompanying video instructions are generally easy to follow, but some users have reported difficulties during the installation process. According to customer reviews, the overall quality of the kit is praised. The back paddles are well-made and offer a satisfying click. Some users have even mentioned their intention to further customize their controllers with colored buttons. However, it is worth mentioning that the panels for the back buttons are smaller than those of the PS4 back button attachment, which may lead to some discomfort for users with larger hands. One notable downside mentioned by customers is the compatibility issue with charging docks. The kit is not compatible with charging docks, which may be inconvenient for users who rely on these accessories to charge their controllers. In summary, the eXtremeRate Textrued Black Back Paddles Programable Rise 2.0 Remap Kit for PS5 Controller BDM-020 offers a cost-effective solution to add back buttons to the PS5 controller. The kit's quality is generally praised, although installation can be tricky for beginners. The lack of compatibility with charging docks is a drawback to Consider.
