Friendship Editorial Review
**** "Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting," a novel by the talented author, stands out as a heartwarming tale that captures the power of human connection in the most unexpected places. The story revolves around Iona Iverson, a creative, dog-loving woman in her late 50s, who has always kept to herself during her daily train rides in London. However, a chance incident on one fateful trip compels her to engage with her fellow commuters in a manner that transforms her life and theirs as well. Readers have responded positively to the book's uplifting tone, interesting ensemble cast, and engaging narrative style. Despite the story's predictability and reliance on common character types, many found it delightful and enjoyable. The writing is noted for its excellent quality, with witty dialogue and relatable characters that resonate deeply with readers, allowing them to connect with Iona and her newfound friends. Critics are pleased with how the novel addresses themes of community, kindness, and personal growth while avoiding the cliché pitfalls of overly sentimental storytelling. The book's exploration of social judgment and the layers of individual experiences offers insightful moments that compel the reader to reflect on their own connections with others. While the plot may follow familiar arcs, the characters' development stands out, and their journeys are described as entertaining, heartwarming, and even humorous. Overall, "Iona Iverson's Rules for Commuting" is a feel-good read that has struck a chord with readers looking for a light-hearted yet meaningful story. It's been praised for providing a refreshing perspective on intergenerational relationships and the beauty of unexpected friendships. **
