What are cedar blocks and how do they protect clothes?

Cedar blocks are natural wood products made from aromatic cedar, known for their ability to protect garments from pests like moths. The natural oils released from cedar have insect-repellent properties that help keep your clothes safe and smelling fresh. By incorporating cedar blocks into your storage solutions, you not only safeguard your clothing but also contribute a pleasant, natural scent to your closets and drawers.

How many cedar blocks come in a package?

This product includes 24 cedar rings, providing ample supply for various storage needs. The quantity allows you to evenly distribute them among drawers, closets, or even suitcases, ensuring comprehensive protection for all your garments. Whether you have a large wardrobe or just need a few for seasonal storage, this package size makes it versatile and effective.

Can I use cedar blocks in areas other than closets?

Absolutely! While cedar blocks are excellent for hanging in closets, they are also effective in drawers, storage bins, and luggage. You can place them in areas where you want to maintain a fresh scent and deter pests, such as your car or attic. Their versatility makes them an ideal solution for any space requiring natural protection against pests.

Do cedar blocks require maintenance or replacement?

Cedar blocks may lose their scent over time, but they can be rejuvenated by lightly sanding the surface to release more natural oils. Depending on usage, you might need to replace them every 4 to 6 months to ensure optimal freshness and protection. Regular maintenance will help keep your storage areas clean and contribute to a pleasant environment for your clothes.

Are cedar blocks safe to use around pets and children?

Yes, cedar blocks are made from 100% aromatic cedar and are generally considered safe for both pets and children. However, it’s always wise to keep cedar products out of reach of small children and pets as a precaution. Their natural properties provide a non-toxic way to repel pests without harmful chemicals, making them a safer alternative.

What is the best way to use cedar blocks for maximum effectiveness?

To maximize the effectiveness of cedar blocks, place them strategically in areas where clothes are stored, ensuring good air circulation. For closets, hang them on hooks or place them on shelves; for drawers, scatter them among your clothing. Regular rotation or repositioning of the blocks can also enhance their protective qualities, helping to maintain a consistent fresh smell.

What scent can I expect from these cedar blocks?

Cedar blocks emit a warm, woodsy aroma, which is both refreshing and grounding. The scent not only masks musty odors but also creates a cozy, inviting atmosphere in your closet or storage area. Many users appreciate the natural fragrance as a pleasant addition to their clothing storage, making the experience of opening drawers or closets much more enjoyable.

Can I customize the size or shape of the cedar blocks?

Cedar blocks typically come in pre-cut sizes, but you can customize them by cutting them to fit particular spaces better if necessary. For example, if you want to fit them into smaller drawers or specific storage containers, a simple saw can help you achieve the desired dimension. Customize them to your needs while preserving their protective properties, making them more versatile.
