Answer: They don't appear to be welded, even on the larger sizes, however, my 95-pound pittie has not budged the heavy duty one we got and I feel very safe using it. -

Which size should I get for my male bouvier?
Answer: Use a flexible tape measure (tailor’s measure???) to measure around your dog’s head at the largest point. This is generally near the front of the ears. This gives the distance inside the loop rings. Add 5cm/2” because the stated length on choke collars (at least Herm Sprenger) are total length. My new male Golden is wearing his predecessor’s 11-y.o. 22” Herm Sprenger. There’s no need for a new collar at all but I may try the black anodized HM. The HM collars are an incredible buy. Their increased cost is minimal compared to the increased quality.
