The Mercer Industries 324045-4-12 x 58-11 Backing Pad for Semi-Flexible Discs is a heavy-duty rubber pad designed for use with sanding discs on an angle grinder. It features threaded wheel design for easy mounting and dismounting of sanding discs. Additionally, the pad has little grips for paper for air vents, keeping the disc cooler and tight to the backer. However, multiple customers have had issues with the pad breaking apart after only a short period of use, with some describing the product as dangerous. One customer reported that the rubber came off the aluminum center, while another reported that the pad shattered like glass. In general, customers found the pad to be well-Constructed and effective when in use with thinner sanding discs. But, it seemed to struggle with heavier discs.
