YAESU Radio Antennas ATAS-120A Editorial Review

The Yaesu ATAS-120A 40 Meter through 70cm Auto Tune Motorized Antenna is designed for compact mobile use. It may have a slight gain on UHF and VHF with a good counterpoise, but on HF bands it has less gain compared to a dipole. It works well with certain Yaesu radios and does not require a specific antenna tuner. However, it is not compatible with 80 meters. For base station use, additional ground enhancements are recommended. Overall, the antenna has received mixed reviews with some users experiencing breakages and others finding it efficient for mobile operation.
