The DERNORD 2 Pack UPVC True Union Ball Valve is a great option if you want something that's easy to install and remove for piping disassembly. It's pretty loose on both ends, so you may need to put extra cement on it, but there are no leaks. However, there have been some concerns about the nut on the Denord 1" union ball valve as it spontaneously exploded after only 22 months. The valve was shut off at the time of the failure and the failed nut disintegrated into several pieces on the fully drained dry side. If it had failed on the wet side of the valve, the entire pump room would have filled with water. Overall, it's a good quality valve, especially for the price, and works well for relatively low-pressure situations like a pool. It may not work as well under higher pressures.
